The article is devoted to the hunger of 1936 on the territory of Kyrov region and Udmurtiya. Climatic terms and tax policy of the state became the reasons of the hunger. Peasantry, left without food supplies, tried to hide tailings of supplies. The state in reply strengthened the repressions, but simultaneously, being sure in the volume of the hunger, supported the countryside.
